Timothy S. Mountcastle, M.D.
Dr. Timothy Mountcastle graduated with honors from Howard University and is a recognized specialist in plastic surgery. As a Virginia native, he is pleased to return to the area after completing his training in Louisiana. He trained at the prestigious Charity Hospital in New Orleans for seven years and earned degrees in both general and plastic surgery from Louisiana State University. During his tenure at LSU, he was appointed chief resident in both general and plastic surgery.
This position is held by the most qualified resident as elected by the staff and his peers. Dr. Mountcastle is currently board certified in general surgery and a candidate for membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, which is reserved for members with all true honors accompanied by the responsibility to sustain the vision and goals of the society: Professionalism, Scholarship, Leadership and Service.
Practicing aesthetic and reconstructive surgery for five years, Dr. Mountcastle is one of only a few plastic surgeons in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area who performs "DIEP"breast reconstruction . Dr. Mountcastle specializes in breast surgery, including augmentations, reductions, and reconstructions. His other areas of expertise include the treatment of VNUS Ablation, abdominoplasty and liposuction.
Dr. Mountcastle has been a speaker at various national conferences for plastic surgeons and has authored several papers on plastic and general surgery. Currently, he is on staff at INOVA Loudoun County Hospital at Lansdowne,Va., INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital and INOVA Fairfax Hospital. By engaging patients in a thorough consultation, he is able to understand patient’s desires and concerns. This dialogue is then incorporated into the surgical process. Dr. Mountcastle is known by his patients for his warm, personal demeanor, and his passion for the details of cosmetic surgery.
An active member of his Clarendon, Va. community, he is deeply committed to community service and charitable endeavors such as children's outreach and on-site assistance to medical missions in Honduras, Colombia, and Bolivia. Dr. Mountcastle also sits on the board of directors of Borromeo Housing Inc., which manages the Elizabeth House residential program for homeless teenage mothers and their children in Arlington, Va.
Dr. Mountcastle enjoys spending time with his pug, Madison and participating in sports such as soccer, tennis, and boating, as well as both water- and snow-skiing.
Meredith West, MS, PA-C: Certified Physician Assistant
Orginally from Richmond, Virginia, she earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from James Madison University. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
As a Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant, she is licensed and qualified to perform comprehensive evaluations, prescribe medications, perform procedures, assist in surgery, as well as provide preoperative and postoperative care. She is dedicated to providing excellent and compassionate care for her patients. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors and with friends and family.
