Back To Hand Surgery GalleryDescription:
60-year-old patient came to Dr. Mountcastle seeking relief for a trigger finger. Trigger finger is caused by swelling or inflammation of the tendon sheath around the flexor tendon. Symptoms may include stiffness, "clicking", or even the finger becoming locked in the bent position. Dr. Mountcastle was able to make a small incision in the palm and gently dissect the inflamed tissue, all under local anesthesia in the office. The patient felt relief immediately and was very happy with the long term result.
