What is Botox? - Mountcastle Plastic Surgery - Ashburn, VA
Name is Amy Herrmann, I'm a registered nurse here at Mountcastle Med Spa, I am responsible for doing all the injectables. We are going to start by talking about Botox today.
Botox is a minimally invasive injectable. When you come in for Botox the process is pretty quick and easy. We start by taking a look at your face and determining which areas you're interested in smoothing out some of the fine lines and wrinkles. After that we determine the amount of units that we want to use per area. Then the injection itself takes usually under about five minutes or so. So you can be in and out in about 15 to 20 minutes.
Any time I do an injection, I love to see you back in two weeks. At two weeks typically Botox is as good as it's going to get, so at that follow up appointment we kind of determine where we stand. Are you happy with the results? Have we put enough Botox in? Do we need to do a little touch up? So the first time we inject, it's typically a two step process. I do it and then have you come back in two weeks. Then from there we kind of have our dosaging down and we'll know exactly what we need to do each time we do it.
