This patient is a 23 year old male who was seeking treatment for his gynecomastia. After a thorough consultation with the patient, Dr. Mountcastle performed a subcutaneous mastectomy on him. The before and after pictures may appear indistinguishable; however, there is a significant difference in the shape of the nipple between each picture. Patients with gynecomastia often have puffy nipples as a result of the extra tissue that localizes underneath it. Removing this tissue aids in reducing the breast size, as well as the puffiness of the nipple. The patient was very happy with his results.
