Patient is a 38 year old female who presented with a keloid on her left ear. Keloids are an overgrowth of scar tissue that can result from something as simple as an ear piercing. Typically, Dr. Mountcastle treats keloids with steroid injections and in some cases even excisions when possible. These excisions can be done in our office and are fairly simple, requiring little to no downtime. Following her procedure, this patient purchased compression earrings to hold pressure on her ear, and followed up with several steroid injections to prevent further keloids from developing. The patient was happy with her results!
