This patient is a 47 year old female who underwent a panniculectomy. Panniculectomies are tummy tucks that can be deemed medically necessary depending on the patient's medical history and insurance. This patient had undergone a gastric by-pass surgery and experienced significant weight loss leaving excess skin to hang over her abdomen. Excessive skin can lead to the development of other complications such as Hidradenitis Suppurativa, a chronic skin condition. Dr. Mountcastle removed over 3,000 grams of tissue from her abdomen. The patient was delighted with her results.
